T-RUN Prague

Wooded hills above the Vltava, Prague

T-RUN Prague · New edition

Trail runs on the edge of Prague, closer than you think.

Where does that trail go?

For years I ran along the Vltava, looking at the wooded hills on the horizon and wondering: could I run there?

I could. I found the trails in Chuchle's Grove and started running hill repeats there. At the top of the climb, I always turned left and dropped back down through the woods.

Then one morning I turned right. That trail led towards Prokop Valley. Later, more hills downriver led me to Zbraslav and Modřany Gully.

None of it started with a plan. It started with a question. This guide is where those questions led.

Three runs

  • Modřany Gully. A wild ravine climb, the Šance plateau, the Hradiště tower and a quiet forest monument to the poet Hálek.
  • Chuchle's Grove. Wooded climbs above the river, and the place where it all started.
  • Prokop Valley. Ridges, old quarries and forest that feels nowhere near a capital city.

What's inside

Progressive, runnable routes from public transport into forests, ridgelines and hidden valleys, with the geology and history of each place, plus technique, practical tips and safety notes for running it well.

You don't need to be a trail runner already. If you run in Prague, you can start here.
